  • Weekly Bible Study - It's time to Molt and Move/ Don't let them taint your oil!

This is the beginning of our weekly Bible series. A new episode will be released every week and we will have discussion later on in the week. You can watch, listen, or read along. Listen on our podcast: Your Bestie blogger https://open.spotify.com/show/6V4P6YAm6hXueBttAZZLRg https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/sierra519 Watch Youtube video Let's Begin, God created us in his image. He also gave us free will and emotions. Which sometimes isn't always the best thing. At times, when we get our way our emotions get the best of us we can forget who we are. Our identity can become scrambled and even lost in the way we identify with the people, places, and even things around us. So when it's a new season we may feel overwhelmed and unsure because everything we once knew is no longer our reality and everything that we are stepping into is unfamiliar. We may struggle with "imposter syndrome." Just like when Jesus went back to his home town everyone was questioning who is this? This is why your wilderness/ isolation seasons are so important! God is preparing you for a new you have not yet experienced. He needs you to become rooted in him and his word. Let's use a Lobster as an example. If you don't know Lobsters go through a process called molting. This is where they shed their old shell and grow a new one. This is a laborious process that is excruciatingly slow and dangerous! 10% of crustaceans actually die during the molting or transitional phase, even though it's something that they all have to go through. I read that it's like taking off a pair of tight wet jeans and your skin being made of jello. If you do one wrong move you could bump into something and bleed to death. For us spiritually this could be sin. We could make a mistake and forget that God is trying to elevate us and fall into sin and stay there because it's familiar and comfortable and we don't want to change. This is where repentance comes in. We can bump of course and instead of saying it's not that bad. I only did it once. It was just today. We take it to God. Ask for forgiveness and his strength to get through it. During the time of growing a new shell, they are more vulnerable to attacks as well. When you transition there will be a lot of Spiritual attacks. They know! Have you ever been in a relationship and been getting ready to break up with them and right before you do or when you do it you start getting messages from EVERYWHERE, the enemy knows! He may not have the details but he knows proximal times. Back to the lobsters, they are going through a venerable time. Not only do they have to be conscious of the way they move they have to be conscious of where they go and what they allow around them. Why? Because you may forget the promises God has spoken to you and over you while you are going through this. You don't want to be around people who may taint your oil. Taint - a trace of a bad or undesirable quality or substance. More importantly, you don't want to forget whoms we are. I believe this is one of the many reasons God made us in his image. He is not only Love, but Love created us in his image so that we may never forget that we are love and the love our Father has for us is unconditional. “So God created man in His own image; He created him in the image of God; He created them male and female. God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful, multiply, fill the earth, and subdue it. Rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, and every creature that crawls on the earth.” Genesis 1:27-28 As we go through this slow, laborious, and dangerous process we have to remember to be rooted in his word. We have to remember repentance, and we have to remember whom we belong to. The shield of God comes in Ephesians 6 : 10- 18 “Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by His vast strength. Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the tactics of the Devil. For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens. This is why you must take up the full armor of God, so that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having prepared everything, to take your stand. Stand, therefore, with truth like a belt around your waist, righteousness like armor on your chest, and your feet sandaled with readiness for the gospel of peace. In every situation take the shield of faith, and with it you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is God’s word. Pray at all times in the Spirit with every prayer and request, and stay alert in this with all perseverance and intercession for all the saints.” These are the same verses but King James ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭10‬-‭18‬ ‭KJV‬‬ “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;” ‭‭Daniel‬ ‭10‬:‭2‬-‭14‬ ‭HCSB‬‬ “In those days I, Daniel, was mourning for three full weeks. I didn’t eat any rich food, no meat or wine entered my mouth, and I didn’t put any oil on my body until the three weeks were over. On the twenty-fourth day of the first month, as I was standing on the bank of the great river, the Tigris, I looked up, and there was a man dressed in linen, with a belt of gold from Uphaz around his waist. His body was like topaz, his face like the brilliance of lightning, his eyes like flaming torches, his arms and feet like the gleam of polished bronze, and the sound of his words like the sound of a multitude. Only I, Daniel, saw the vision. The men who were with me did not see it, but a great terror fell on them, and they ran and hid. I was left alone, looking at this great vision. No strength was left in me; my face grew deathly pale, and I was powerless. I heard the words he said, and when I heard them I fell into a deep sleep, with my face to the ground. Suddenly, a hand touched me and raised me to my hands and knees. He said to me, “Daniel, you are a man treasured by God. Understand the words that I’m saying to you. Stand on your feet, for I have now been sent to you.” After he said this to me, I stood trembling. “Don’t be afraid, Daniel,” he said to me, “for from the first day that you purposed to understand and to humble yourself before your God, your prayers were heard. I have come because of your prayers. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia opposed me for 21 days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me after I had been left there with the kings of Persia. Now I have come to help you understand what will happen to your people in the last days, for the vision refers to those days.”” Checkout our other Podcast: Health, Wealth Woman Podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/healthwealthwoman Ebook: "How to Improve your Relationship with God" ✨Praying for you Peace, Love & Blessings ✨ -Sierra, Your Bestie Blogger.

  • Overcoming Anxiety with the Bible

Are you struggling with anxiety? The Bible offers us comfort and guidance to help us overcome this challenging emotion. Let's explore some verses that can provide solace during anxious times. You can click on the Chapter to be taken to the selected verse. Matthew 6:25-34 Philippians 4:6-7 Psalm 94:19 Matthew 6:34 Psalms 28:7 Psalm 56 :3-4 Genesis 28:15 Isaiah 41.10 Psalm 34:19 Luke 12:22-31 Psalm 62:8 Philippians 4:6-10 1 Peter 5:6-7 Hebrews 13:6 Matthew 6:25-34 (HCSB) The Cure for Anxiety “This is why I tell you: Don’t worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the sky: They don’t sow or reap or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you worth more than they? Can any of you add a single cubit to his height by worrying? And why do you worry about clothes? Learn how the wildflowers of the field grow: they don’t labor or spin thread. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was adorned like one of these! If that’s how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and thrown into the furnace tomorrow, won’t He do much more for you — you of little faith? So don’t worry, saying, ‘What will we eat? ’ or ‘What will we drink? ’ or ‘What will we wear? ’ For the idolaters eagerly seek all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided for you. Therefore don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV) "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Psalm 94:19 (NIV) "When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy." Matthew 6:34 (NIV) "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Psalms 28:7 “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart rejoices, and I praise Him with my song.” Psalm 56 :3-4 “When I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” Genesis 28:15 “Look, I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go. I will bring you back to this land, for I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.” Isaiah 41.10 “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you; I will help you; I will hold on to you with My righteous right hand.” Psalm 34:19 (AMP) “Many hardships and perplexing circumstances confront the righteous, But the Lord rescues him from them all.” Luke 12:22-31 “Then He said to His disciples: “Therefore I tell you, don’t worry about your life, what you will eat; or about the body, what you will wear. For life is more than food and the body more than clothing. Consider the ravens: They don’t sow or reap; they don’t have a storeroom or a barn; yet God feeds them. Aren’t you worth much more than the birds? Can any of you add a cubit to his height by worrying? If then you’re not able to do even a little thing, why worry about the rest? “Consider how the wildflowers grow: They don’t labor or spin thread. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was adorned like one of these! If that’s how God clothes the grass, which is in the field today and is thrown into the furnace tomorrow, how much more will He do for you — you of little faith? Don’t keep striving for what you should eat and what you should drink, and don’t be anxious. For the Gentile world eagerly seeks all these things, and your Father knows that you need them. “But seek His kingdom, and these things will be provided for you. Don’t be afraid, little flock, because your Father delights to give you the kingdom.” Psalm 62:8 “Trust in Him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts before Him. God is our refuge. Selah” Philippians 4:6-10 “Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable — if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise — dwell on these things. Do what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7 “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your care on Him, because He cares about you.” Hebrews 13.6 “Therefore, we may boldly say: The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” In moments of anxiety, remember to turn to these verses and allow them to remind you of God's presence, his love, and his promise to bring you peace. Using God's word and speaking the name of Jesus can change the Impossible. ✨Praying for you Peace, Love & Blessings ✨ -Sierra, Your Bestie Blogger.

  • Your Guide to Elegance: Fine Dining Guide

Fine dining offers a delightful experience that goes beyond just savoring delectable dishes. It's an opportunity to immerse ourselves in a world of refined taste, sophistication, and timeless traditions. At the heart of this experience lies the importance of fine dining etiquette – a set of rules and guidelines that elevate the dining experience to a level of elegance and grace. Whether you are attending a formal business dinner, a special celebration, or simply want to appreciate the art of dining, mastering fine dining etiquette is essential. I have been a part of the Fine dining restaurant scene as well as banquets throughout my years in the hospitality industry. There’s always that one person looking around, unaware of what to do and when to do it. In this post, we will explore the essential aspects of fine dining etiquette to help you make a lasting impression during your next upscale dining experience. Plan Ahead Dress to Impress The Art of Seating The Napkin Ritual Understanding Place settings Being Served The Art of Conversation Wine Etiquette Navigating the Table 1. Plan ahead When planning on eating at a Fine dining restarts you should plan ahead. This means calling ahead to make reservations. Typically you can call the week you plan on eating at the establishment, but I will advise you to call when you are planning your trip to popular destinations. If you are traveling to a nice, heavily tourist location and have a restaurant in mind, call ahead. These places tend to be booked weeks or months in advance, especially during peak season. 2. Dress to Impress The first step to fine dining etiquette begins with dressing appropriately for the occasion. Always adhere to the dress code specified by the restaurant or event invitation. For men, this often means wearing a well-tailored suit or dress slacks paired with a dress shirt and tie. Women may opt for a sophisticated cocktail dress, elegant gown, or dressy separates. Remember, clean, pressed clothing and a well-groomed appearance are fundamental aspects of fine dining etiquette. When you call to book your reservation, ask about the dress code, if they do not mention it to you upon booking. 3. The Art of Seating Upon arrival, wait to be seated by the host or hostess. If you are unsure of where to sit at a formal event, allow the elders or the guests of honor to take their seats first. Remember to keep an eye on your posture, sit up straight, and avoid slouching. 4. The Napkin Ritual When seated, follow the lead of your host and unfold your napkin, placing it on your lap. This small gesture shows respect and readiness to start the meal. If the napkin presented is a large napkin, unfold it halfway. If you are dining at a restaurant, place the napkin in your lap as soon as you take a seat. When there is a napkin ring, place the ring at the top left side of your table setting. If you need to excuse yourself during the meal, place the napkin on your chair. Unless it’s an informal setting or restaurant, it will be acceptable to place the napkin on the left of your plate. During your meal keep the napkin in your lap when not in use. It is acceptable to use your napkin often. Remember to blot or pat your mouth, near wiping. Bonus points if you wipe your mouth before taking a drink. At the end of the meal, fold the napkin neatly and place it to the left of your plate. If you talk with your hands, make sure your napkin isn’t a part of the conversation 5. Understanding Place Settings A formal dining table may appear daunting with its array of utensils and glassware, but it's not as complex as it seems. Start with the outermost utensils and work your way inward with each course. If you are unsure, observe your host or follow the flow of the meal. The bread plate is located to your left, and the water and wine glasses are to your right. If you look at the diagram I have made below you will have a visual of where everything is located. Note that the dessert fork will either be already set up on your left, at the top of your plate or they will bring it with dessert. If you are ordering Steak, fish, or something that requires additional utensils your wait staff will exchange or add the proper utensils after you order or before the meal. 6. Being Serving When the food is being presented the wait staff will present the food from your right side. Be aware of this, especially if you talk with your hands. Please give them the allotted space to present the next course. When they return after the course they will pick up your plate from the left side of you. 7. Mastering Silverware Savvy As mentioned earlier, using the appropriate silverware is vital in fine dining. Remember these basic rules: Forks are typically on the left and are used for the main course and appetizers. Knives are on the right and are used for cutting food. Spoons are also on the right, usually next to the knives, and are used for soups or desserts. Once you start eating with your utensils do not put them down on the table, but place them on the edge of your plate 8. The Art of Conversation Engaging in polite and meaningful conversation is crucial during a fine dining experience. Avoid discussing sensitive topics like religion, politics, or controversial issues. Instead, talk about lighter subjects, such as travel, hobbies, or the arts. Be attentive to your dining companions and avoid using your phone, except for emergencies. Personally, I don’t talk about religion, but my relationship with God comes up at least once during any conversation. 9. Wine Etiquette If wine is served during the meal, familiarize yourself with some basic wine etiquette. Wait for the host or sommelier to pour the wine, and if you don't drink alcohol, discreetly decline. Hold the wine glass by the stem to avoid warming the wine with your hand, and take small sips to appreciate its flavors fully. 10. Navigating the Table Avoid reaching across the table to grab something. Politely ask for items to be passed to you, and always use the serving utensils provided. Remember to say "please" and "thank you" during these interactions. Mastering the art of fine dining etiquette is not about rigid rules or showing off, but rather about embracing a sense of respect, grace, and sophistication. By adhering to these guidelines, you can make your dining experience more enjoyable and memorable, both for yourself and those around you. Remember, the essence of fine dining etiquette lies in appreciating the company, the culinary delights, and the shared moments of joy and connection around the table. So, the next time you find yourself at an upscale dining event, embrace the opportunity to showcase your elegance and grace through the timeless art of fine dining etiquette. Bon appétit! -Sierra, Your Bestie Blogger.

The Versatility of Squash Seeds Squash seeds, also known as pepitas, come from various types of squash, including butternut, acorn, pumpkin, and spaghetti squash. These small seeds are rich in protein, fiber, vitamins, and minerals, making them an excellent addition to your diet. Once roasted, they can be enjoyed as a standalone snack, sprinkled on salads, added to granola, or used as a topping for soups and other dishes. The versatility of squash seeds allows you to explore various flavors and culinary combinations. The Health Benefits of Squash Seeds Nutrient Powerhouse: Squash seeds are packed with essential nutrients such as magnesium, zinc, copper, iron, and manganese. They also contain a variety of B-vitamins, including thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, and folate, contributing to overall health and well-being. Rich in Healthy Fats: These seeds are a great source of healthy fats, including monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, which are beneficial for heart health and brain function. Plant-Based Protein: If you're looking to add more plant-based protein to your diet, squash seeds are an excellent choice. They provide a protein boost and can be a valuable addition to vegetarian or vegan diets. Antioxidant Content: Squash seeds contain antioxidants like vitamin E, which help combat oxidative stress in the body and support the immune system. Digestive Health: The fiber content in squash seeds aids in digestion and promotes a healthy gut by supporting regular bowel movements. Baking Squash Seeds: Now that we've explored the benefits of squash seeds, let's dive into the simple process of baking them to perfection: Step 1: Seed Extraction Start by scooping out the seeds from your favorite squash. If you're using butternut squash or acorn squash, you can carefully separate the seeds from the stringy pulp with your hands. For pumpkin, you may want to use a spoon to help with the extraction. Step 2: Cleaning and Drying Place the extracted seeds in a colander and rinse them thoroughly under cold water. Make sure to remove any remaining pulp. After rinsing, pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel or paper towel. I personally let my seeds sit out covered with a towel to dry. Step 3: Flavoring This is where you can get creative! In a mixing bowl, toss the seeds with a drizzle of olive oil and your preferred seasonings. Common choices include salt, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, or a touch of honey for a sweet and savory blend. My personal favorite is nutritional yeast, for a cheesy flavor. Step 4: Baking Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Spread the seasoned seeds evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Avoid overcrowding the seeds to ensure even baking. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven. Step 5: Roasting Bake the seeds for approximately 25-30 minutes or until they turn golden brown. Be sure to give the seeds a gentle toss halfway through the baking process for even coloring. Step 6: Cooling and Storage Once the seeds are baked to perfection, remove the baking sheet from the oven and let the seeds cool completely. This allows them to achieve maximum crunchiness. Once cooled, store the squash seeds in an airtight container for up to a few weeks, if they last that long! Baking squash seeds is a simple and rewarding process that allows you to create a nutritious and flavorsome snack. Not only are squash seeds delicious, but they also provide numerous health benefits, from supporting heart health to boosting your immune system. So, the next time you cook with squash, don't throw away those seeds! Instead, try roasting them to experience the fantastic taste and health advantages they have to offer. Not only do you have a snack it’s one less thing to throw away and one more thing you can eat. Now you can go and enjoy your crunchy and wholesome homemade snack! ✨Wishing you Peace, Love & Blessings ✨ -Sierra, Your Bestie Blogger.

  • Self care tips as a Christian

In a world that often glorifies busy lifestyles, it's crucial to remember that self-care is not a luxury; it's a necessity for a fulfilling and well-rounded life. By prioritizing self-care and incorporating these practical tips into your daily routine, you'll not only improve your own well-being but also enhance your ability to navigate life's challenges with resilience and grace. If you havent read our blog about " The importance of Self care & God" and can read it here Set Boundaries: Learn to say no when you feel overwhelmed or stretched too thin. Setting boundaries with your time and energy allows you to focus on what truly matters to you. When setting boundaries don't let someone else's audacity pull you out of character. Having boundaries set and a hardened heart are two different things. You want o guard your heart but you don't want your boundaries to turn it into hard ice. Practice Mindfulness: Incorporate mindfulness techniques into your daily routine, such as meditation, deep breathing, or journaling. These practices can help reduce stress and improve your overall outlook on life. I like to practice these at the start as well as throughout my day. At times I pray about a situation or when I'm feeling stressed and I step away and find a quiet place to sit and just be in the presence of the Lord. Allowing his presence to bring me peace before going back to my day. Prioritize Sleep: Ensure you get enough quality sleep each night. Create a calming bedtime routine and limit screen time before bed to improve the quality of your rest. The quality of our sleep and our sleep habits are crucial to our health. Your sleep can throw off your hormone balance, how your body and mind react, your mood, energy and so much more. Nourish Your Body: Eat a balanced diet filled with nutritious foods that fuel your body. Stay hydrated throughout the day to maintain optimal health. I like to add lots of colors and make my own food as much as possible. Practicing intuitive eating is helpful because you really start listening to your own body and what different cravings mean. This is one way you can help your body balance in nutrients. Personally, I had to learn whenever I start crazing cheese in my diet, I know I’m low in fats so I need to add in more nuts and avocados. Move Your Body: Find physical activities that you enjoy and make them a regular part of your routine. Exercise not only benefits your body but also releases endorphins that boost your mood. When you give yourself time for God and for yourself, you will start learning new things. You may relative that you like dancing or lifting weights. Engage in Hobbies: Make time for activities that bring you joy, whether it's reading, painting, gardening, or playing a musical instrument. Hobbies are a great way to unwind and express yourself. God has put so much in us, don’t be afraid to use it. Connect with Nature: Spend time outdoors and connect with nature. Take a walk in the park, go for a hike, or simply sit in your garden to enjoy the fresh air and natural beauty. This is a great time to connect with God. I remember in one season of my life I would get up early pray and read my bible, then go to the bay and watch the sunrise and just sit in nature waiting to hear God. Socialize: Nurture your relationships with friends and family. Spending quality time with loved ones can provide a sense of belonging and support. Make sure they aren’t toxic. Sometimes you will go through seasons where you are alone. God knows things about people and their intentions for you. This could also be unaware to that person. Maybe someone they hang out with has doors open for the enemy to come in. With them being connected to them it’s not attached to them and God is protecting you and taking you to another level. That friendship or relationship may end, but what God takes away he will also multiply when he gives you something else. Make sure you are nourishing yourself with people who fill your cup. I enjoy Traveling as my social life. Limit Screen Time: While technology has its benefits, excessive screen time can be draining. Set aside designated periods for a digital detox to foster a healthier balance. Every time I pick up my phone to check on something or if someone has messaged me. I act as if God is on the other end doing the same for me. I am waiting for the next notification and God is waiting for my next "Hello." Changing my mindset has helped me limit my phone time. If you haven't read my ebook "How I grew my relationship with God" click here. I talk about the example above. thinking of God as a person in my life and if I truly put in first. Practice Self-Compassion: Be kind to yourself and practice self-compassion. Treat yourself as you would treat a dear friend, with love, understanding, and forgiveness. This is the hardest for a lot of people. Forgiving ourself. For me, it's believing it. I know God is good, and I know he has forgiven me, but surrendering the thought of forgiving yourself as a human at times feels impossible. I guess this is why we need God because he can help us through these difficult moments, like changing our unbeliefs. Remember, you deserve to take care of yourself, and by doing so, you'll be better equipped to take care of others and embrace life's journey with joy and vitality. • The Importance of Self-Care & God

In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it's easy to get caught up in the demands of work, family, and social obligations. In the midst of it all, we often neglect the most important person in our lives: ourselves. Self-care is not just something that is trending or for someone who has the means to do it. It's an essential practice that allows us to recharge, rejuvenate, and maintain overall well-being. In this blog, we'll explore the importance of self-care and share some practical and effective self-care tips to help you prioritize yourself and your relationship with God to cultivate a healthier, happier life. If you are not making time for yourself, I'm petty sure you aren't making time for God. I've been there, and it was stressful trying to do everything on my own. I had to relearn who I was by really getting to know who God was. Understanding the Importance of Self-Care Self-care is not selfish; it's a vital aspect of maintaining balance and harmony in our lives. Just like a car needs regular maintenance to function optimally, we, too, need to invest time and effort in taking care of ourselves. We must do this mentally, spiritually, and physically. Here are a few points on why self-care is so crucial: Stress Reduction: Engaging in self-care activities can help reduce stress and prevent burnout. Taking time for yourself allows you to unwind, relax, and reset, enabling you to tackle challenges with a clear and focused mind. Stress Reduction may also help you with those few extra pounds that keep adding and adding up. Stress can even impact your nervous system and how your body responds. When things become stressful or too much to bear we have to turn to God. I have learned I am either holding on too tightly to something that no longer serves me, I’m trying to rush something out of God's timing, or I am not understanding the situation at hand. This could mean I'm focused on me and not seeing the bigger picture of the situation or I forgot to add God into the situation and I have become overwhelmed with my responsibilities. Sometimes we are simply supposed to experience and grow from the situation because God will use it later on in our life. I know in the past I have let the experience/trial plant a seed in my head, growing a plant with thorns that I let hurt me, with my thought. Instead of allowing the experience to build my character the way God intended. Stress Reduction may also help you with those few extra pounds that keep adding and adding up Improved Physical Health: Self-care practices, such as regular exercise, proper nutrition, and sufficient sleep, contribute to better physical health and increased energy levels. Balancing Stress and getting proper sleep is a huge game changer to your health. If you can't do anything else for your health, make sure SLEEP is a priority! Our bodies are not just our bodies but we are vessels for God and a temple for the Holy Spirit. It's hard to walk in purpose when we are constantly treating our body's like they're disposable. We only get one body so we have to make sure it will last. Can you imagine being in Heaven at the gates and trying to explain to God that you didn't use everything that he placed in you because of what you placed in yourself? Asking God for help in all things makes a world of a difference! I have struggled with weight and poor sleep, and my early twenties were worldly fun and I know put a strain on my body. I had to get my act together in every area. I was living a good life and doing good but I was in Purpose. There's Peace in Purpose! Enhanced Mental Health: Taking care of your mental health is just as important as caring for your physical health. Self-care activities can alleviate anxiety, depression, and improve overall mental well-being. Make sure you find what works for you. This involves you building a relationship with God so you can hear his guidance and have him lead you in the right direction. If you are trying to build your relationship with God Checkout my ebook: "How I grew my Relationship with God," here Boosted Productivity: When you prioritize self-care and time for God, you become more productive and efficient in your daily tasks. Taking breaks and engaging in activities you enjoy can help you return to your work with a fresh perspective and renewed motivation. God created everything not just the universe but me and you as well. When we let him flow through us the creativity, the spiritual gifts, and the ideas flow! Better Relationships: When you're in a good place mentally and emotionally, your relationships with others also benefit. Taking care of yourself allows you to be more present, compassionate, and understanding towards others. Your relationship with yourself is the most important human relationship there is. I hear a lot of people say that can love others better than they love themselves and this isn't true. This is something that I thought was my truth and my reality. Until I felt really broken and empty and had to ask God. "If it is not good for man to be alone... Why am I always alone why do I feel alone? Where's my love?" There's a misconception about love we are confused or misled about what love actually is. When I put God first It changed all of this for me. He first introduced me to love and how he was love and how he created me. I had to relearn who I was by really getting to know who he was. In past relationships(family, friends, business, romantic) I've been hurt. I had a trauma response to others' hurt, almost like PTSD. Since I was not able to save myself from getting hurt I tried to help others by "giving my all" or "loving others more" as a response to no one being there to help them when I was in need. This wasn’t healthy and I had to learn that, break those walls down and that mindset, and truly love myself by getting to know who I truly was. Folate: Essential for cell division and growth, especially crucial during pregnancy. Potassium: Helps regulate blood pressure and maintain proper nerve and muscle function. Iron: Vital for transporting oxygen throughout the body and preventing anemia. Manganese: Supports bone health and assists in various enzymatic processes. Fiber: Aids digestion and helps maintain a healthy gut. (something to be aware of... When you eat beets they are the same color coming out so don't be alarmed if you see "blood" when you go to the restroom after enjoying some beets.) Health Benefits of Beets Heart Health: The nitrates in beets can help lower blood pressure and improve overall cardiovascular health. Studies have shown that regular beet consumption is associated with a reduced risk of heart disease. Brain Health: The nitrates in beets may also benefit cognitive function by increasing blood flow to the brain and supporting mental acuity. Beet Juicing Recipes Beet juice is a refreshing and convenient way to enjoy the many benefits of beets. Here are three delicious beet juicing recipes to get you started: 1. Classic Beetroot Juice: 1 medium-sized beetroot, washed, peeled, and chopped 2 large carrots, washed and chopped 1 apple, cored and chopped 1-inch piece of ginger peeled Juice of half a lemon 2. Beet-Berry Blast: 1 medium-sized beetroot, washed, peeled, and chopped 1 cup strawberries, hulled 1 cup blueberries 1 small cucumber, washed and chopped 3. Zesty Beet-Citrus Refresher: 1 medium-sized beetroot, washed, peeled, and chopped 2 oranges, peeled and segmented 1 lime, peeled 1 cup pineapple chunks 1 teaspoon honey (optional, for added sweetness) When I first tried juicing beets, I did not know they were naturally sweet. My first juice included carrots, apples, and beets and I added honey. The juice was so sweet I had to add water. Just keep this in mind when pairing beets with other sweetness.) Instructions: Wash and prepare all the ingredients as mentioned. Run them through a juicer, alternating between harder and softer produce for better extraction. Stir the juice well to ensure all flavors are mixed evenly. You can serve the juice as is or over ice for a cool, refreshing treat. Note: If you don't have a juicer, you can blend the ingredients with a little water and strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or nut milk bag to obtain the juice. ( I personally Blend & strain) In conclusion Incorporating beets into your diet, whether through juicing or other culinary methods, can significantly enhance your overall health and well-being. From supporting heart health and reducing inflammation to improving athletic performance and brain function, beets offer a wide array of health benefits. • Let's make Healthy Carrot Raisin Salad

So I was raised in Southeast Ga and one thing that I love is carrot raisin salad. It's not a recipe that my mom or any in my immediate family would make. So whenever the opportunity presented, I knew I had to savor the moment. From the sweetness of the pineapple to the way it perfectly compliments the crunch of the carrots, all blended with raisins. Mmm, this is defiantly a favorite of mine. The first time I started I was approaching this dish to make it I knew I did not want to add mayonnaise. I consciously make decisions to make my food my nutriment and medicine. Dealing with PCOS for almost 2 decades I decided to stop taking medicine. I know between my food and God I'll feed my body properly with nourishing food while feeding my soul with God. Between these two I have noticed a difference in my body. My cycles returned about 3 years ago consistently every month, I no longer have migraines, and finally, I'm able to get that stubborn weight off. With that being said let's get into the recipe. This is a disclaimer: I do not measure when I cook. I can look, see, and, smell and know it will come out good. This is a "recipe guideline." What is a recipe guideline? It's like a recipe but none of the ingredients or measurements require a full commitment. This is cooking we are not signing a mortgage with our food. If you like it add more, if you don't add less. I will talk you through what I did and what works for me, but you have to do what works for you, your body, and your family. Now let's Grab your ingredients You may use pre-shredded or canned supplies. I would not recommend these options as they WILL change the flavor Fresh Pineapple (You can use canned) 5-6 Big Carrots Grated ( You may grab a bag of shredded carrots) Raisin (or golden raisin) 2 TBS Apple Cider vinegar (ACV/ If you don't like vinegar you can swap this acid for fresh lemon juice.) 1 Lemon (Optional ) 1-2 TBS Olive oil ( you can use any oil, I would not recommend vegetable or canola oil) Nuts and seeds If you are feeling adventurous, go ahead and experiment! Add some walnuts or almonds for a crunch and tell me how it comes out. Supplies you will need Bowl Cheese grater or Food processor Knife cutting board mixing spoon I soaked my whole pineapple and carrots before using them for about 15+ minutes. I used a mixture of Water, vinegar, and sometimes, rarely a dash of salt in the water. I like to use the whole carrot so I buy organic carrots and scrub them clean, then stack them. I do not peel the outer part of the carrots because there are a lot of nutrients. Nutrients come from the soil. This is why it's so imported to feed the soil if you are a gardener. That's a story for another blog, but this is just one reason I don't peel my carrots. There are a lot of benefits for women as well, this is why I will eat this, especially before my cycle. Let's start by Shredding or grating the carrot. This takes a lot of extra elbow grease if you are using something with smaller holes, like a grater. You can skip this step if you buy already shredded carrots. I would recommend getting fresh and shredding yourself. You can use your cheese grater or food processor. I Shred all my carrots, then place them in a bowl. Add 1-2 tablespoons of oil and ACV. I personally add a splash of each from the bottle depending on my quantity. You really only need enough to coat the carrots. You will add in your pineapple next so the juice from that will combine and be more than enough. You may with the ACV for lemon juice but I prefer the ACV as it helps balances blood sugar and helps the body with PCOS symptoms. I cut my pineapple and discard the top unless I want to plant it. I put my peels to the side for Pineapple Tea. I even have parts of the core. So you will grab the top of your pineapple and twist off the leaves. Then, you will cut the bottom and top of the pineapple off. Now, it should be sitting straight up on your cutting board. At this point, you have a few options. Option 1: You will not cut from the top towards the bottom of the pineapple. You will do this all the way around. until you are no longer left with any brown. Just the juicy sweet flesh of the pineapple Option 2: You can you a pineapple corer Option 3: You can buy Pre-cut Fresh pineapple Canned/ Jar pineapple (which will have added ingredients) Once you have your pineapple cored you will cut it into smaller pieces and add it into your bowl. Whatever pineapple juice is on the cutting board, I make sure to add all of that as well. Now you will add in your raisins and any addiction ingredients you like. Give this a good stir and place it in the fridge. I normally make myself a bowl right away because I enjoy this dish a lot. I have noticed it always tastes the best when you give the ingredient time to marinate and chill for at least 30 minutes in the fridge. Enjoy! ✨Wishing you Peace, Love & Blessings ✨ -Sierra, Your bestie blogger.

  • Learn the Voice of God

As your relationship grows with God and will begin to learn his voice. I have been questioned before on “How do you hear from God?” God talks to us all in so many ways. He talks in parables in dreams, he shows us visions. He may actually talk to us where we hear his voice. Sometimes he speaks through our thoughts or signs. Not numerology, but God may even speak through numbers. He may use songs to speak to us. He’ll even send conformations through other people. Don’t limit how God can talk to you. You have to learn his voice and his ways as well as take things back to him. The enemy can not create anything just steal, kill, and destroy. For example, when God speaks through numbers we automatically assume its numerology and its bad. Nothing God created is bad, man’s perception becomes skewed by the enemy. When God speaks you have to let the Holy Spirit guide you. As led by God with numbers, we aren’t looking into angel numbers. If the Lord is guiding you to look up numbers you have to let the Holy Spirit guide you on how. Let’s say everywhere you go you keep seeing 828. God may lead you to look this up in Strong’s Concordance. Strong’s concordance is a reference in the back of the Bible with Greek and Hebrew definitions of words in the Bible. He may lead you to a bible verse, such as Romans 8:28. It may even be confirmation for you of something you have done or getting ready to do. Like house hunting, you see this gorgeous house you really want, and as you go to apply for it you realize the address is 828. Now at that moment, you may have an understanding of why God has been showing you 828 for weeks if he didn’t already reveal it to you. It’s very important that you seek the Lord and learn his voice. If you do not build a real relationship with God, the enemy will have you out here confused! Don’t let the enemy confuse you, stay in your word and you will be able to truly hear and recognize God’s voice. You must read your Bible to learn his voice. You will have dreams from God as well as from the enemy. You need discernment to understand where the dream is coming from. I have had dreams that were weird and I thought it was from the enemy, so upon waking I tried to ignore it. The Lord spoke to me later and said I didn’t bring it to him. As I begin to interrupt it, I realize the dream was from the Lord. This is one reason we must take everything to God first and not limit how he talks to us. I have even had God confirm something to me through a fortune cookie. Again God created, EVERYTHING. If you limit God on what he can do, how he can speak, and how he can move you will live a very simple life because you believe God is small. The God of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob that I serve is almighty. Resources: If you are interested in growing your relationship with God and would like more resources here are some below.
